Living Creativity: weekly innovation workshop

Reinventing creativity in the workplace

Background

During this period of time, a merger recently happened between my digital agency and a more traditional one called McCann Erickson.

There was an opportunity to bring diverse skill sets, perspectives, and creative approaches into our campaigns. However, in the aftermath of the merger, it became evident that there was a lack of connection and understanding between the two teams.

Solution

To bridge this gap and celebrate the diversity within our new agency, I proposed an idea that would allow individuals to introduce themselves by showcasing their unique creative skills.

A blue origami heart was introduced as a symbol of unity and creativity, representing our shared passion for the craft. Every Friday, the entire team would come together to introduce themselves in the most imaginative ways possible, incorporating the blue origami heart into their presentations.

Living Creativity Workshop

From 3D printing and video productions to original songs, storytelling, and even custom-designed clothing, each team member’s talents were on full display to inspire the rest of the group.

Conclusion

The ‘Living Creativity’ workshop quickly became the heartbeat of our agency. Every Friday, everyone came together to celebrate individuality and explore the endless possibilities of creativity. Most importantly it strengthened a sense of community as a creative collective that helped us overcome our differences. We may have split after a few years to continue our personal journey but I can assure you that people do recall this time as the golden era in our agency.
